SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

DIRECT DRIVE AND NO.7 POTTERY WHEELS

A fault has been identified in the above wheels, whereby an electric shock can be sustained through the foot pedal. This can occur if the wiring INSIDE the pedal becomes detached from the potentiometer or corroded as a result of moisture ingress AND then touches on the metal rod at the top of the pedal. The most common cause of disruption to the internal wiring is through damage, usually sustained through pedals being dropped/misused. This can cause detachment of wires, break the plastic casing and seal, allowing moisture ingress and corrosion. Wires can also twist and potentially break if the gland at the back of the pedal becomes loose.

Please stop using your wheel.

Contact the Venco agent you purchased the wheel from or if purchased second hand, please contact an agent who is located closest to you.

The agent will then issue instructions regarding repair of the wheel.

All repairs must be completed using the required repair kits and a licensed electrician and the repair will be undertaken at either the agent’s premises, or in the case of a school or commercial operation with multiple wheels, the repair may be done at these customers location.

If you own a Number 7 electronic wheel, please contact us directly at vencorecall@gmail.com.

SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

PRODUCT RECALL OF VENCO NO. 3 AND NO. 5 WHEELS PURCHASED BETWEEN MAY 2015 AND JULY 2018 AND WHEELS WHICH HAD A REPLACEMENT MOTOR FITTED BETWEEN THOSE DATES

An electrical safety issue with some of the Number 3/5 Potter’s wheels purchased from our agents between May 2015 and July 2018 has been identified.

The affected wheels have the electrical cord exiting the motor on the same side as the large spring. Wheels that had a replacement motor fitted between those dates may also be affected. Not all number 3/5 wheels purchased during this time will have this issue.

In order to identify if you have purchased one of the affected wheels, we ask you to follow the instructions outlined below.

POTENTIAL SAFETY / RELIABILITY ISSUE – IDENTIFYING POTENTIALLY AFFECTED WHEELS

Wheels that might be affected are the Venco No. 3 and No. 5 (with speed lock) wheels supplied between May 2015 and July 2018. Older wheels that had a replacement motor fitted between those dates may also be affected.

SAFETY / RELIABILITY RISK;

It has been brought to our attention that some wheels manufactured during the above dates have an issue that potentially damages the electrical conductors within the power cord. This leads to intermittent motor operation. Under some extreme cases this may present an electrical safety risk to the operator.

TO IDENTIFY THE WHEELS IN QUESTION;

Unplug the power supply cord and slowly turn the wheel over onto its side. If the motor supply cable is exiting the motor on the large spring side,this wheel will need to be repaired.

Please stop using your wheel.

Contact the Venco agent that the wheel was purchased from or if purchased second hand, please contact the Venco agent located closest to you.

Yours sincerely,

The Venco Team
